StayVault holds an international student's rent in a Solana escrow, releases it to the student's dorm (purpose-built student accommodation, PBSA) one week at a time after move-in, and pays the dorm's investors their share in USDC every month.

Paying rent from another country is easy to get wrong.
Families send rent across borders every week or month, on their own, with no link between the payment and whether the student actually moved in.
former international students we interviewed had paid rent late at least once.
Transfers are scheduled by hand. One interviewee simply forgot a rent transfer.
Converting to local currency adds fees on every payment, before the dorm sees a cent.
And investors already want student housing.

A rail that collects rent from families abroad and pays token holders on-chain. That is StayVault.
Four steps, all on-chain.
The escrow and the dorm's vault are program accounts with no private key. StayVault never holds the money.
- STEP 01
Set aside
The parent deposits every week's rent in USDC into an escrow account owned by the program.
Parent signs - STEP 02
Approve move-in
The parent and the property manager both sign. Week 1 is released to the dorm's vault.
Parent + manager sign - STEP 03
Weekly release
Each week's rent moves to the property vault once it is due. Anyone can trigger it.
No signature needed - STEP 04
Monthly payout
The token issuer runs the payout: investors, the manager and StayVault are paid, and the reserve stays in the vault.
Token issuer signs
Moving out early? The parent and the manager sign again, and the unpaid weeks go back to the parent. If move-in is never confirmed by the deadline, the parent gets everything back.
Safer for families. Real yield for investors.
For parents
- Nothing beyond the rent. StayVault pays every network fee and the escrow account deposit.
- Not a prepayment. The dorm can't touch a week's rent until move-in is approved and that week is due.
- Never late. Rent is set aside once, then released on schedule.
- Unpaid weeks come back if your child moves out early.
For investors
- Rent income in USDC, paid out every month.
- Split by units held, straight to each investor's wallet.
- No off-ramp in between. Rent moves wallet to wallet, from the family to you.
- Every payout is verifiable on Solana Explorer.
Every USDC of rent, accounted for.
Each month the vault's rent is split by fixed rates. In production the token issuer sets the rates for each property; these are the demo settings.

Business model: StayVault earns 3% of every monthly payout and pays all network fees out of it. Parents pay nothing beyond the rent.

The program is deployed on devnet. Every payment in the demo is a real devnet transaction with a link to Solana Explorer.
The program
Seven instructions, written in Rust with Anchor.

Try it without a wallet
The demo uses published devnet-only wallets, so anyone can run the full flow in a browser: set aside rent, approve move-in, watch weekly releases and a monthly payout. In the demo, one week lasts 10 seconds.
GJet47eJPYYAxHz5RFvxqVKv3n6d6uWZWPsRUSzjB5ZGQuestions families and investors ask.
Is this the same as paying rent in advance?
No. The rent sits in an escrow account owned by the program. The dorm receives a week's rent only after move-in is approved and that week becomes due.
What if my child never moves in?
If move-in is not confirmed by the deadline, the parent can take everything back from the escrow.
What happens if they move out early?
The parent and the property manager both sign, and every week that has not been paid yet goes back to the parent.
Who pays the network fees?
StayVault. It pays the fee for every transaction and the escrow account deposit out of its service fee, so parents pay nothing beyond the rent.
Can StayVault move the money?
No. The escrow and the property vault are program accounts with no private key. Funds move only by the program's rules and the required signatures.
